Jack Persekian, Artistic Director of the Sharjah Biennial, will curate Disorientation II, an exhibition of works presented by artists from Middle Eastern countries, which explore Arab cities from the perspective where both unity and division co-exist. The exhibition will look at Jamal Abdel-Nasser´s period as a moment of rupture, when the failure of his pan-Arab unity plan and Arab nationalism had fractured the then fragile structures which were to stand in the face of outside hegemony on the region. The exhibition will include sculptures, spatial and monumental work of contemporary artists from the Arab world.
Presented by TDIC in cooperation with the Sharjah Art Foundation, it will be the first exhibition to be featured in the Arts Abu Dhabi Gallery within Manarat Al Saadiyat, the new exhibition centre developed by TDIC on Saadiyat Island.

Celebrate the opening of Disorientation II at the opening reception, Saturday 21 November, 19.00-22.00.
Performances:
Samah Hijawi: Free speech preformance and intervention; project that investigates Arab Identity.
Tarek Atoui: Contemporary sound performance.

Return transport from Emirates Palace to Manarat Al Saadiyat will be provided on Saturday evening and all day Sunday 22 November for guests of Abu Dhabi Art.
Disorientation II will be open to the public at Manarat Al Saadiyat until 20 February 2010.
