• What is Abu Dhabi Art?

    Abu Dhabi Art is an innovative new platform for modern and contemporary art. Bringing together an exclusive selection of high-level art galleries and innovative emerging galleries from the four corners of the world within an ancient and modern crossroads of culture and trade, Abu Dhabi Art is a new-model curated art fair, which reflects the dramatically changing geography of today´s art world.

  • Where is it held?

    Abu Dhabi Art is held in and around the impressive UAE Pavilion and Manarat Al Saadiyat in Saadiyat Cultural District on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

    Unprecedented in scale and scope, Saadiyat Cultural District will be a centre for global culture, drawing local, regional and international visitors with unique exhibitions, permanent collections, productions and performances. Its iconic institutions, including Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will be housed in buildings constituting a statement of the finest architecture at the beginning of the 21st century.

    The UAE Pavilion, designed by Foster + Partners, was on display for six months at Expo 2010 Shanghai, showcasing exhibitions that highlight the history of the UAE; its stunning design attracted almost two million visitors. Now located in its permanent home beside Manarat Al Saadiyat, the pavilion will be a new landmark exhibition and events venue, hosting some of the country’s most important cultural functions.

    Manarat Al Saadiyat literally means ‘the place of enlightenment’. Located on Saadiyat, this artistic venue houses Saadiyat Cultural District Exhibitions with international collections from around the world and includes four galleries, a central events gallery, sales centre, 250-seat theatre, and restaurant. The main galleries of Manarat Al Saadiyat constitute of permanent spaces for a series of exhibitions and educational programmes organised by TDIC. This is part of an ongoing cultural programme dedicated to developing awareness and understanding of art and culture prior to the launch of the Saadiyat Cultural District.

  • What are the opening times?

     Public opening days are 7 - 10 November 2012
    Wednesday 7 – Thursday 8th Nov, 3 – 10pm
    Friday 9 – Saturday 10th Nov, 2pm – 10pm

  • Do I need an admission ticket?

    Yes. General admission tickets are free of charge and you can book yours by calling +971 2 657 5900 or at the registration desk at Abu Dhabi Art.

  • How can I book for a workshop?

    Registration for Design Studio workshops and Abu Dhabi Art Atelier workshops can be made through the telephone by calling +971 2 657 5800. Each attendee is asked to pay AED 50 per workshop to cover the cost of materials. Workshops have limited capacity.

  • Are there any activities for children at Abu Dhabi Art?

    Art Zone is a specially designed art space dedicated to children & families to enjoy multiple art activity stations, plus art-making easel areas. It is a friendly, easy to access and inspiring art environment for families with children aged 2 to 12 years old.

    Art Zone is a space where parents can drop children off or stay with them to explore and engage in art concepts and art-making together. It has a uniquely designed activities programme with a safe, fun and friendly environment for children and families to engage in, explore and create!

    Trained and Professional staff are on hand to supervise, assist and care.

  • How do I get there?

    Saadiyat Cultural District is accessible via car and parking is available at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

    View the map for directions coming from Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

    A shuttle bus will be running between the St Regis Hotel, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Monte Carlo Beach Club and Manarat Al Saadiyat for the duration of Abu Dhabi Art. More details on timings will be available soon.

    The ArtBus will be attending Abu Dhabi Art daily from Dubai, stay tuned here for more information.
